You know what is worth its weight in gold...finding the "one" when it comes to a hairdresser. Lucky for me, I met her years ago when I first moved to Memphis! We have both had babies together, laughed together, grown in our business together and I consider my time with her one part - catch up on life and another part - therapy session. So naturally any time I can return the favor and make her and her family shine, I am all for it! And if you are currently searching for "the one", then look up Natalie!!
If you have followed along with me and my business (formally Pea Pie Photography), you have probably noticed that my newborn sessions have evolved over the past 5 years. I started off posing newborns with blankets and wraps and hats and bows but that really isn't what made my heart sing. I have come to find, that for me and my art, I am most in love with the connection, the newness and the simple moments from newborn sessions. So during my lifestyle newborn sessions I focus more on the family and give a littler extra attention to the big brother or sister if needed, rather than getting a newborn to sleep so that he or she can be posed a certain way. I loved getting to know the A family and I am kicking myself for not sharing this post sooner because it is clients like these that make it all worth it for me!
This session was a first for me and I am so thankful it was with this sweet family! The S family had been praying and waiting for their adopted child and finally that all changed on June 29th when this blessing came into the world and they were able to call her their own! If you are interested in their story of adoption, they have a website that shows their faith and joy through this process. Addie, you are so loved and congrats to the S family on now being a family of three!
Every year I look forward to letting dads off the hook when I shoot these Mommy & Me Mini sessions. It is always one of my favorite sessions because cuddles and kisses are what moms do best so naturally the photos are always full of emotion! I only offer these once a year, so if you are interested in getting notifications for next year be sure to subscribe to my newsletter!
