What kind of photographer are you?
With each session my goal is to connect with you personally so that the photographs reflect you and your family. I prefer to capture natural and organic moments, and do not consider myself to be a “say cheese” type of photographer.  While I may do a few posed shots, I will take time to interact with and watch you and your family in order to capture the moments that you will want to remember forever.  The pace of the session is dictated by each family; there is always time for a break, snacks or a clothing change.  I want your session to be relaxed, casual, and most of all fun!   All my sessions are shot at an agreed upon location using natural light.  Natural light photography is really special and provides for the most captivating images.

Why does custom photography cost more?
Custom photography is all about a unique experience with the end result being a timeless heirloom.  The time invested in a session is only a small portion of the time involved in the process.  I invest a great deal of time preparing for the session, travel time to/from the session, uploading and culling through the photos, artistic editing of each image and client ordering and delivery time, all to provide you with a unique experience and result.  I also spend a great deal of time continuing my knowledge of photography through workshops and other resources.  I invest a large amount of my profits back into my camera and equipment.

When and how do I pay?
The session fee is non-refundable and due before your session in order to reserve your date.  Nothing more is paid until you see your gallery online, and chose your prints and/or packages.

Why don’t you show all the images?
I will take many more pictures in a session than I need to ensure there will be a wide array of quality pictures in your gallery.  I do not provide unedited pictures.   Some images are not included due to blur from subject movement, eyes closed, goofy faces, etc.  Part of the service I provide, is culling through all the images to pick the ones that are the best.  I also feel that too many images can be overwhelming.  You are paying for my “artistic eye” and my goal is to give you a creative piece of art, not just a picture.  I assure you that I will not leave a beautiful image out just because you have reached your gallery limit.

What the heck does my family wear?
I would say to wear what best reflects you and your personal style.  You will also want to stay away from large logos or graphics as they are distracting and can date a photograph.  Keep it classic yet colorful and while your family doesn't have to be matchy-matchy, color coordinating is a good way to go.  My Pinterest page has tons of great ideas!

Will I be able to share my photos on Facebook? Can I print & download them from Facebook?
I will post your sneak peak photos on my Facebook page and Instagram, feel free to tag yourself in the photos of you and your family, or use them for your profile picture, or “share” them with your friends and family. But in these cases, I ask that you do not remove our watermark/logo from the photos. They are on there to protect my work, as well as your family from having the images stolen and used for other purposes. As far as downloading and/or printing, that is not allowed, and is a violation of the copyright law, per USC title 17. If you chose one of my digital packages, you will receive the full resolution, non-logo’d version of the photo(s) via a downloadable .zip file.  The high resolution images are for personal printing purposes only.

Copyright vs Print Release? What is involved in the copyright?
When a photographer creates an image, it is automatically copyrighted and protected per The Copyright Law – USC Title 17. This gives the photographer (creator of the image) exclusive right to copy, edit, print, distribute, post on facebook, blog, etc. These rights make it illegal for anyone else (even if you are in the image) to copy, scan, edit, print, or distribute any versions of the images (printed or digital) without the photographer’s permission. This is a Federal Law and can be prosecuted as such. Illegally downloading, screen capturing, watermark removing, or altering the images in ANY way is strictly prohibited. When you purchase any digital package from me, you are getting a print release, not a copyright release. I still own the photos and the copyright, but you are free to take the images and get as many prints as you would like, in any size.  You may not make copies of the images to share with family and friends. If in doubt, just email me and ask!

Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes I do!!!! They can be purchased for any dollar amount, and expire 1 year from the date of purchase.
