What. A. Year!!
While I always love a new beginning, a new week, month, year, there is something bittersweet about seeing a year come to an end. I always end up reflecting on the past and wondering if I lived in the moment, stayed true to myself, gave myself grace knowing I can’t accomplish it all and was the best photographer, friend, sister, mother and wife I could have been. I’m not one to live in regret or look to the past, so the New Year really seems like a fresh start to see where I was and where I can go!
2021 was a beast of a year! Between the families I photographed, the brands I worked for and the students I met and photographed at various schools around town, I am overly grateful to call this my job!
The families that choose me year after year are the true diamonds in the rough! They have grown with me and I’m forever grateful for their support and friendship!
If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be doing what I am doing now, I would have laughed while sitting in my cubical crunching excel spreadsheets, counting down the minutes until I could leave and pick up my son from daycare! That saying that goes something like “be thankful for the things you have today, because they were once things that you prayed for” is SO true!
