The Memory of a Photo Session

The other day I was cleaning out a closet and came across a print I had taken of my three boys when they were younger. I vividly remember that day because my youngest wasn’t quite old enough to sit by himself so I told my other boys to hold him tight. The wildflowers were perfect, the lighting was perfect, the outfits were perfect and even the photo turned out to be what I was hoping for, but the memory comes to mind the minute I (and my sons) see the photo is the moment when my oldest boys lost grip on my youngest and he fell face first into the ground and cried hysterically.

I tell that story to say that the EXPERIENCE you have at my photo session matters more than all the other stuff!

When I deliver your photos and you are looking at them for the first time or years from the day you took them, I would hope that you remember the fun that you had with your family at the session, NOT the stress that you felt getting there, or the worry of picking out what to wear or the expectation of perfect behavior! Believe me when I say, that I don’t expect anything other than you and your family showing up to have a good time together. THAT connection is what I want to capture because THAT is what you will remember!
