Saying farewell to 2019
I am still feeling the New Year vibes, mainly because my kids still haven’t gone back to school and we are trying to enjoy the unusually warm weather. As I reflect back on the year, I am reminded of my goals for 2019 to step outside of my comfort zone and say yes to opportunities that push me and maybe even scare me. I am happy to report that I feel like I accomplished that! In March of 2019 I photographed a wedding and while it made me a nervous reck, the couple was so laid back and beautiful and it made the day and the photos really come together (just now realizing I never blogged this so stay tuned). Another way I stepped outside my comfort zone was to say YES to more commercial photoshoots! I love helping small business owners up their photo game and I am excited to say I worked with some pretty amazing people and businesses and found a new love of photographing interiors!
Another goal was to expand my fine art preschool photographs and I did add on another preschool in town and photographed over 400 kids that were just so genuine and adorable! AND for the first time I offered my school portraits to families outside of the preschools I photograph. This was such a fun event and I definitely plan on doing it again!
I wrapped up 4 Baby Plan clients and was thrilled when I provided them with an album of their baby’s photos from their entire first year. There is always something special when I see images in print!
A few things I wanted to improve on but didn’t, were blogging regularly, becoming more comfortable with showing my face in photos and on Instagram and sending out emails to my newsletter subscribers. I want to add this to my 2020 goals and really set time aside for these things.
So there you have it! 2019 was exhausting but oh so fulfilling. Once my little man started sleeping through the night around June and I got back into the swing of things, I remembered how much I loved being creative and meeting new clients that many times become fast friends.
So cheers to 2020!! I am busy writing goals and dreaming up how this year can top the last!
